The top 10 finalists of Miss Namibia 2025 were warmly received at the Palace of the Omukwaniilwa of Ondonga on Africa Day, marking a unique cultural milestone for the pageant.

Honouring Ondonga tradition, the finalists crawled on their knees to pay their respects to Omukwaniilwa Fillemon Shuumbwa Nangolo, leader of the Ondonga Traditional Authority.

Omunyekadhi Adelheid Nangolo, who is the official patron of Miss Namibia 2025, then led the finalists on an educational tour of the royal homestead. The young women learnt about the Ondonga people's cultural norms, practices, and values in what was described as a “living classroom”.

The visit concluded with a traditional gala-style reception celebrating heritage and elegance.

In a surprise announcement, Omukwaniilwa Nangolo revealed that the Miss Namibia 2025 winner will receive not only a crown but also a cow from the village, symbolising royal honour. The Ondonga Traditional Authority also pledged N$30,000 in support of the pageant.

Calling on the northern business community to rally behind the event, the traditional leader urged attendance at the Ongwediva Trade Fair Centre on July 18 and 19, marking the pageant’s return to northern Namibia after nearly 35 years.

Miss Namibia CEO Umbi Karuaihe-Upi expressed gratitude for the Queen’s patronage, saying it brought “grace, cultural dignity, and a true sense of identity” to this year’s event.
