The weekend crime report was marked by a series of drug-related arrests and several serious incidents across the country.

In Aroab, a 54-year-old woman was apprehended while attempting to smuggle 16 bankies of cannabis and half a Mandrax tablet into the local police station.

Additionally, a 29-year-old man was arrested in the same area for possession of cannabis.

In Koes, a 24-year-old man was found with a bankie of cannabis, while in Ncaute, a 34-year-old suspect was caught with a parcel of cannabis.

A significant drug bust in Oranjemund resulted in the arrest of two suspects, aged 35 and 37, who were found with five parcels of cannabis weighing 345 grams, believed to be laced with cocaine, valued at N$ 17,250.

Other incidents reported included two inquests in Okatyali, Oshana Region, where a 101-year-old man was discovered dead at home.

In Rundu, a pensioner allegedly shot himself in a suspected suicide; no suicide note was found, and his next of kin has been notified.

In Karasburg, seven suspects reportedly robbed a resident at gunpoint, stealing N$ 10,000 in cash and items worth N$ 4,500.

Four suspects have been arrested, and some stolen items were recovered.

In Windhoek's Katutura, police reported a housebreaking with losses amounting to N$ 17,000 in stolen goods.

Meanwhile, in Grootfontein, a drunk driving incident resulted in minor injuries for two people after a crash on the B1 road.

All suspects arrested in these cases are expected to appear in court in various towns.
