A commotion erupted at the Namibia National Youth Council of Namibia (NYC) headquarters today when suspended director Calista Schwartz attempted to block the nbc News crew from entering a media briefing organized by the Affiliate Organization and regional Youth Forums of the Youth Council of Namibia.

The briefing, intended to address urgent issues within the council, was disrupted when Schwartz claimed it had not received approval from her office.

In response, the Youth Affiliate asserted that Schwartz, being suspended, has no authority to oversee or interfere in council operations. 

“The Director is on suspension. She cannot interfere in any NYC matters,” stated a member of the Youth Affiliate.

The disagreement escalated quickly, attracting attention and prompting calls for intervention from the Minister of Youth.
