Preparations for the upcoming by-election in the Kamanjab constituency are progressing smoothly, according to Elias Kandi, the returning officer from the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN).

A total of 94 election officials have been trained and grouped into 18 teams, ready for deployment on June 17.

“All logistics and operational plans are in place to ensure a smooth and efficient voting process,” Kandi said.

The by-election follows the resignation of former constituency councillor Nico Somaeb of the United Democratic Front (UDF). Somaeb left his regional position after being appointed to Parliament for the 2025–2030 term.

Kandi urged all registered voters in Kamanjab to turn out in numbers and make their voices heard.

The SWAPO Party and the UDF will be contesting the constituency seat.
