Loading zones around Windhoek, particularly those heading to the south, were packed as parents scrambled to get their children back to school ahead of reopening tomorrow.
At Rhyno Park, most buses had departed in the early hours, leaving many travellers waiting since 07:00 this morning with limited transport options.
While some parents commended the relative order at Rhyno Park, other hike spots saw chaotic scenes, with frustrations mounting over unregulated minibus services.
Several parents who had pre-booked seats complained that their bookings were ignored, as crowds stormed into buses, making it difficult for those with reservations to board.
Many pleaded that priority be given to school children to ensure they arrive on time.
Speaking to NBC News, the secretary general of the Namibia Bus and Taxi Association (NABTA) urged parents to plan earlier and avoid last-minute travel arrangements.
With the new school term starting tomorrow, calls are growing louder for better coordination, stricter transport regulation, and more awareness around early travel planning.
