A Namibian man, Sililo Liseho, and two Zambians, Kubonana Sikuniso and Mukuswani Mukuswani, remain in custody pending investigations after being found in possession of cannabis.

The trio was arrested over the weekend while illegally crossing into Namibia from Zambia.

The trio face a charge of dealing in dependence-producing substances; however, the two Zambian nationals, Sikuniso and Mukuswani, also face an additional charge for being in Namibia without permits.

The three were arrested at the Kamenga border between Kongola and Sangwali.

They were in possession of the bags of cannabis worth more than 263 thousand dollars.

Chief Inspector Charles Mayumbelo noted the difficulty Nampol has had in dealing with criminal activities in areas that border Namibia and Zambia.
