The conference, taking place from 22 to 31 July, brings together global leaders, policymakers, conservation experts, and stakeholders to advance efforts in the protection and sustainable management of wetlands.

Wetlands are among the world’s most valuable ecosystems, playing a critical role in biodiversity conservation, water purification, climate regulation, and the livelihoods of millions of people worldwide.

Namibia, as a contracting party to the Ramsar Convention, has emphasised its commitment to strengthening international cooperation in wetland conservation and upholding its obligations under the Convention.

The ministry encourages all Namibians to recognise the value of wetlands and support efforts aimed at protecting these vital ecosystems for future generations.
