President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah expressed satisfaction with the dedication and contribution of outgoing Finnish Ambassador Leena Viljanen to the longstanding relationship between Namibia and Finland.
The President noted that Ambassador Viljanen's efforts have helped strengthen the existing foundation, particularly in the areas of education and health.
Namibia and Finland share a longstanding and unique relationship that dates back to over 150 years, beginning with the arrival of Finnish missionaries in Namibia.
During a courtesy farewell visit, President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah acknowledged the efforts of outgoing Finnish Ambassador Leena Viljanen, which have helped strengthen the existing foundation, particularly in education and health.
Nandi-Ndaitwah highlighted key areas of continued focus, including economic cooperation in sectors like energy and biomass, as well as the importance of ongoing high-level exchanges between the two countries.
Bidding farewell and describing her tenure as both enjoyable and gratifying, Ambassador Viljanen highlighted the current focus on strengthening economic and trade cooperation between Namibia and Finland.
Ambassador Viljanen served in Namibia for four years.
