President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has arrived in the Zambezi Region ahead of the 35th Heroes' Day commemoration ceremony, which will be hosted in Katima Mulilo.

Today, Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah met with the leaders of the four traditional authorities: Chief George Simasiku Mamili VII of the Mafwe traditional authority, Chief Gilbert Muhongo Moraliswani III of the Masubia traditional authority, Chief Boniface Lutibezi Shufu of the Mayeyi traditional authority, and Chief Joseph Tembwe Mayuni of the Mashi traditional authority, all accompanied by their Ngambelas.

Regional councillors and other regional heads, as well as Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare and various ministers, were also present.

She said the engagement was a show of appreciation to the traditional leaders for receiving her in the region in time for Heroes' Day. She further stated that it was a platform to introduce the newly appointed regional governor, Dorothy Kabula, to the authorities.

President Nandi-Ndaitwah will host a luncheon and precede it with a closed-door engagement with only the traditional leaders present.
