By Wednesday, the 17th edition of the Okakarara Trade Fair, which began on Monday, had attracted over 3,000 visitors.
“A total of 129 local exhibitors and one international exhibitor from Tanzania are participating in this year’s trade fair,” the chairperson of the fair, Ernst Katjiku, told Nampa on Wednesday.
The fair is taking place at the Okakarara Trade Fair Centre and will run until Sunday.
Katjiku expressed excitement to see more than 3,000 local and foreign visitors enter the trade fair centre, saying the number is expected to increase to or exceed 7,000 over the weekend. He urged participating businesses to capitalise on the trade fair to establish their networks and generate income.
The official opening of the trade fair is set for Thursday by Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare, while the Miss Okakarara Trade Fair 2025 Beauty Pageant is scheduled for Friday night. Several other activities are lined up, including a music concert featuring local artists such as Wild Dogs, Topdivas, Oneblood, Ongoronomundu, and Mbalembale, among others, on Saturday night.
Fattened small and large animals will also be showcased to the public as of Thursday morning, said Katjiku.
