First National Bank of Namibia, through the First Rand Namibia Foundation, has donated nine laptops valued at N$50 000 to Omusimboti Combined School in the Oshana Region.

Speaking during the handing over of the donation, Branch Manager for Ongwediva and Omuthiy, Kitho Angula, stated that FNB Namibia is visioned to build a globally competitive Namibia by ensuring that all children have access to quality education.

This, he said, should not just count for urban areas, but every corner of the country, including rural areas.

Angula described the gesture as a new window of opportunities for the children and communities at Omusimboti.
"To our learners these computers are your window to the world and your tools to knowledge and empowerment. To our teachers these are tools and will help enhance your teaching, promote digital literacy in your classrooms and support e-learning and in-remote education. Let them be the spark that feels your curiosity and shapes your tomorrow".

Angula added that the world is advancing, and so are efforts to support the education of the Namibian child.

The Inspector of education in the Ompundja circuit, Hofni Kapolo also expressed his appreciation.

"This contribution will greatly enhance our learners learning experience, providing them with access to technology and digital resources"
The Principal, Joel Amwele is also overwhelmed about the gesture.

"Today I would like to state my sincerely gratitude to FNB Namibia, to thank you for considering our school and sponsor us with modern ICT materials."

A learner, Bertha Nandenga spoke on behalf of the learners.

"We are very thankful for the donation; we are going to learn how to use the laptops and how to search for things that we don't know."
