Government institutions, law enforcement agencies, and civil society met at Opuwo to deliberate on key legal and governance matters at a stakeholder engagement convened by the Office of the Attorney General.
The engagement is part of the Attorney General's outreach programme aimed at strengthening collaboration between the central government and regional stakeholders in the delivery of justice and the promotion of good governance.
Attorney General Festus Mbandeka hailed the event as productive, with a successful outcome.
"We shall continue to share information and exchange views, and I'm just glad that there was a very good turnout of people from key institutions. And I have confidence that Kunene and the various institutions that are served by the regional council still, we shall continue to make Kunene a better place for everybody."
The Director of Education in the Kunene Region, Sofia Fredricks, described the engagement as an important platform for improving understanding and access to institutional support within the public service.
"But with this engagement, one can now understand where we are going to get this support. So, and also an opportunity for us to say, when you have your staff members and you want them to be capacitated on this kind of information, this office is open, and we can invite them to come. We capacitate our people so that we prevent some of those things. And also some of the unnecessary commotions that are happening within our society."
Participants further highlighted the need for continued collaboration between the Office of the Attorney General and regional stakeholders to improve governance, strengthen legal compliance, and ensure that public resources are managed responsibly.
The engagement forms part of the Attorney General's nationwide outreach programme to promote the rule of law and enhance service delivery through inter-institutional cooperation.
