The First Gentleman of Namibia, Lt Gen. Epaphras Denga Ndaitwah, addressed crime statistics in the ||Kharas Region, calling for urgent action to tackle root causes at the official opening of a Men's Conference in Keetmanshoop.
The Men's Conference was held at the Moth Mall in Keetmanshoop, where the Deputy Minister of Industrialisation, Mines and Energy, Gaudentia Kröhne, alongside regional stakeholders and large numbers of men from the community, attended the event.
First Gentleman Ndaitwah was invited as the keynote speaker, where he highlighted some of the crime statistics from January 2024 to October 2025 in the region.
He stressed that this should serve as a national wake-up call and demanded a collective effort to address these issues.
He further highlighted the worrying suicide statistics among men.
The first gentleman said men should address the root causes to rebuild themselves and restore the nation.
The Men's Conference will run until November 23; this provides a platform for men to discuss issues such as social ills, mental health, and other challenges affecting them.
