Voters at the Oshatotwa C polling station in the Tobias Hainyeko Constituency turned up in numbers to exercise their democratic rights.
54-year-old Fredrika Petrus, who lives in Olyeeta Informal Settlement, told NBC News that she arrived around four in the morning, and she was the first to cast her vote.
She paraded up and down the line, relaying the importance of this voting process.
"Let us go vote. To go and vote for our leaders, our councillors and local authority leaders so that we can get development. So that you are able to have a voice."
