The City of Windhoek has approved additional funding for its debt relief programme for senior citizens and vulnerable residents.​

An additional N$100 million in funding was approved to support pensioners who were 60 years or older by 30 November 2023, but whose previous applications were unsuccessful.​

Council has also approved another N$100 million to extend debt relief to persons with disabilities, child-headed households (aged 21 and younger), orphanages, NGOs, and charitable organisations.
