The |Khomanin Traditional Authority plans to revive the hunting farm and lodge that were already in existence when Farm Korasieplaats was acquired.
According to Special Advisor Walter |Haseb, the authority is currently seeking investors to enter into a joint partnership.
|Haseb cited financial constraints and technical expertise to operate the facilities independently as some of the impediments.
He said any partnership agreement must benefit the community and be managed by it in the next five years.
|Haseb revealed that discussions are ongoing with the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism regarding the provision of game for the farm.
He explained that most wildlife was relocated by the previous owner at the time of sale, leaving the property with minimal game.
A formal request has since been submitted to the ministry, and the authority is awaiting feedback.
Despite the challenges, |Haseb said the traditional authority is optimistic, describing the developments as the beginning of a new era for the |Khomanin community.
