The incident occurred on Thursday at around 22:30 at the Tsintsabis settlement.

According to the long weekend crime report issued by NamPol Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, it is alleged that an argument erupted between the deceased and the suspect, leading to a physical fight.

“The suspect, who is the girlfriend of the deceased, took out a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest. He died on the spot,” she said.

The suspect has been arrested and is in police custody and is expected to appear before the Tsumeb Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

Police investigations into the matter continue.

In an unrelated incident, a 45-year-old Namibian man was arrested on Wednesday at around 09h00 in the Soweto location in Tsumeb following a tip-off about his alleged involvement in dealing with illicit narcotics.

“It is alleged that the suspect was found in possession of parcels of (skunk) cannabis, mandrax tablets and powder, Yes cigarettes, and cash believed to have been generated from his dealings after a police search was conducted,” said Shikwambi.

The suspect is in police custody and is expected to appear before the Tsumeb Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

In an unrelated incident on Wednesday at around 09h00 at Onanduli village in the Nehale Lyampingana constituency, the lifeless body of an adult Angolan male was discovered hanging from the roof of his sleeping room, with a rope around his neck.

“The body was discovered by a housemate who went to check on him when he did not report for work. No suicide note was found, and no foul play is suspected,” she said.
