The community of Omaalala in the Oshana Region held their first-ever expo to raise funds for the back-to-school drive, such as school uniforms and other essentials.
As December 31st dawned, the Omaalala community had organised a support system in the form of an expo to meet the costs of supplies, uniforms, fees, and extracurriculars.
"We appreciate our Omaalala Expo because they're assisting our back-to-school drive. We would like to ask the whole community to come and support us here. It will help us buy the school uniform for our children. The aim of the expo is not to make a profit but to cater for our needs," said Genhardt Kathindi, one of the expo organisers.
Some who attended the Omaalala Expo had advice for the nation for the New Year.
Herman Paulus advised that people should "Change all your goals and focus on the new year; anything that happened in the past, forget it. It's a new year; it's a new page. Focus on something else new and dream big. Change habits, change friends, and try sending out CVs and job applications there. At the end of the day, you have to eat; you have to have a job. Send out the CV, send out the application you have in mind, and send out the projects you have in mind and the business ideas."
At Ongwediva, the Deliverance Prophetic Salvation Ministry's Prophet Jimmy Mwoombola shared his words of encouragement.
"The reason why it is important to crossover in the presence of God is that you're laying a foundation for the year 2026. As you can see, each year comes with different challenges, be they emotional or any other difficulty, so right now what we are doing is laying a foundation and praying for the year 2026 so that, whatever we encounter, God is into it, God will strengthen us, and above all, the Lord Jesus Christ will be our shield and will cover us and protect us in the year 2026."
