The President of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network has called on members of the UN Security Council to affirm immediate critical actions in fulfilling the mandate of the UN Charter.

Professor Jeffrey Sachs added that none of the bombing operations carried out by the United States in seven countries over the past years have been authorised by the Security Council. 

Sachs addressed the Council members during an emergency session convened to discuss the U.S. attack on Venezuela and what he described as threats to world peace.
