The leadership of the Namibian National Students Organisation (NANSO) met with the Ambassador of Venezuela, Dr. Magaly Henríquez.
The meeting was held on invitation of Dr. Henriquez in the framework of Youth Day in Venezuela.
The purpose of the meeting was to learn about NANSO’s structure and scope, present the benefits of the Great Venezuela Youth Mission, and strengthen cooperation between both nations in youth-related matters.
Ambassador Henríquez emphasised that this dialogue helps strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation between Venezuela and Namibia, while highlighting the strategic role of student organisations in building more just and inclusive societies.

During the meeting, the Great Venezuela Youth Mission was presented. This initiative, launched in February 2024 by President Nicolás Maduro, was conceived as a “new-generation mission” aimed at protecting and supporting young Venezuelans in areas such as education, employment, culture, sports, health, entrepreneurship, and social participation.
Since its creation, more than five million young people have registered through the Patria System, consolidating a comprehensive programme of opportunities and training.
NANSO Vice President Phillip Hamunyela, accompanied by his team, attended the meeting.

Hamunyela expressed appreciation for the overview provided on Venezuela’s political and economic situation and stated that Namibian youth will always offer their support and solidarity to the Venezuelan people.
He also expressed interest in working with Venezuela to promote activities that strengthen cooperation between the youth of both countries.
The ambassador thanked Namibia for its firm stance regarding the Venezuelan situation and highlighted the support expressed by the African continent.
