Motorists in Windhoek have expressed their frustrations over poor road conditions resulting into high costs of vehicle maintenance and repairs caused by potholes since the last rainy season.
They are frustrated by frequent repairs and higher maintenance costs of their vehicles.
The Spokesperson of the City of Windhoek, Lydia Amutenya agreed that many roads are in bad condition and heavy rain over the last two seasons made the situation worse.
"We are busy at the moment. We have various contractors on both western and eastern side of Windhoek because they are external service providers that also have to be appointed to assist with this work. So, these team members, they are actually doing the best they can to make sure that they fix and repair those potholes."
Residents are urged to report any inconveniences to the Municipality.
"When any service interruption is reported to the city, it's mostly reported through our customer contact center. And the call is logged. When you log a call, it means that you receive that message and you put it on the system. And then it's sent to the relevant department. And they assign the relevant teams to attend to it."
