Former President Hifikepunye Pohamba has urged members of the Swapo Party to protect the party’s ideologies and address internal divisions, cautioning that visible rifts are fostering disunity.
Speaking at a regional party leaders' meeting in Eenhana, Pohamba also marked the party’s 66th anniversary.
He noted that while the party has remained a force to be reckoned with for decades, the decline in support seen in recent elections is worrisome.
Pohamba urged members to place the party's interests and ideologies above personal agendas, stressing that a unified purpose is essential for the future retention of Swapo's support base.
