The body of a male discovered at the City Gammams Water Care Works has been identified as that of 47-year-old Euhudt Timbo.

Timbo's body is suspected to have washed through drainage systems, later being discovered by a security guard on Sunday in one of the machines used in the water treatment process, who immediately alerted the authorities.

According to the Namibian police, visible signs of injury were detected on the victim's body.

Timbo, also known as Lucky, worked as a slots shift manager at the Avani Hotel's casino department.

According to one of his colleagues, when contacted by NBC News, Timbo had been on leave since the 13th of May and was expected to be back at work yesterday.

No arrests have been made, with investigations still ongoing.

His next of kin has been informed.

The City of Windhoek has urged the public to allow the investigation to continue unhindered.
