Finance Minister Erica Shafudah has announced that NamRA has been instructed to ensure that they improve on the processing of refunds, with the period for processing refunds having been reduced from 90 to 60 days.

This was after NDP Leader Martin Lukato raised concerns regarding prolonged delays on tax refunds.

"We have agreed that from 90 days from now they are going to process the refunds within a period of 60 days. But what is critical to all of us, and I want to make use of this opportunity because I still have some time there, is really to make sure that when we file our tax returns, let us try to really put all the documents that are necessary or that are needed and also to follow up with NAMRA to make sure that when they are going to do the assessment, the documents that are required have been submitted by all of us."
