The Namibia National Students' Organisation (NANSO) Secretary General, Secilia Ambunda, says the student movement remains a vital school of leadership that shapes young people into responsible and capable leaders.
Speaking at the Oshana NANSO regional conference held at Ongwediva, which elected the new regional executive committee for Oshana, Ambunda said no one joins the organisation and leaves unchanged, describing it as a platform that nurtures leadership, discipline and community service.
She credited NANSO for helping shape her into the fearless leader she is today, saying the organisation taught her valuable life skills and instilled a culture of giving back to communities.
Ambunda said NANSO continues to stand out as the country's leading student organisation, producing disciplined and quality young leaders who are committed to serving Namibia.
She added that the organisation equipped her with practical leadership and communication skills that no classroom alone could have provided, urging young people to actively participate in student leadership structures to develop themselves and contribute to national development.
Let us remember that leadership is not just about prestige, but leadership is about responsibilities. We don't want to come back in 2028, and guys, what we elected here – there is only one face. We must get into those positions because truly we want to serve the learners, students and trainees of Oshana.
