Campus Connect has hosted its inaugural Student Representative Council (SRC) Leadership Forum, bringing together student leaders from various institutions to network, share ideas, and engage with relevant stakeholders.
Held under the theme "Creating Tomorrow's Leaders," the forum aims to equip student leaders with relevant leadership skills, including advocacy, financial stewardship, communication, and media training.
The initiative also provides a platform for SRC leadership to share their experiences and concerns while engaging with government representatives and the private sector on issues affecting students.
Campus Connect Representative Shinana Nghixulifwa explained that the Forum creates a platform for SRC leaders from different institutions to network and engage with relevant stakeholders.
“Campus Connect is a student magazine that was established and launched in August 2025 by the Deputy Minister of Education, Dino Ballotti. The initiative we have launched today is the Campus Connect SRC Leadership Forum. We realised that SRCs from different universities do not often have the opportunity to network, interact, share ideas, or raise their concerns with relevant stakeholders, such as government ministries and the corporate sector.”
He said the initiative is expected to grow into an annual platform, with plans to expand the forum institutions across the country.
Nghixulifwa is hopefull that Campus Connect will secure more corporate partnerships to take the initiative to different regions.
The Forum also seeks to strengthen the leadership capacity of SRC members, ensuring that they return to their respective institutions with the knowledge and skills needed to better represent their fellow students.
Triumphant College SRC President Morris Samuel had this to say.
“This is indeed a good initiative by Campus Connect because it is one of the first times in history that all SRCs from different institutions have come together under one roof. It also makes it easier for us, as SRCs, to know who we are working with.”
