The Nyae Nyae Conservancy is hosting an Annual General Meeting where members from different villages raised issues affecting their communities and discussed possible solutions.

The week-long meeting runs from 14 to 18 September and brought together two representatives from each of the 40 villages within the conservancy.

Speaking to NBC News, Nyae Nyae Conservancy Chairperson Gerri Cwi highlighted the importance of the annual gathering.

"We always have this meeting in September because it gives you a chance to see how you stand, fix things that need to be fixed, and also implement new things that you will continue to work with."

The meeting will review the financial report, the conservancy policies and elections, during which different committees will vote for the Chairperson of the conservancy.
