The Victory Youth Group (VYG) held an event in Windhoek under its Youth MegaHelp initiative aimed at addressing pressing challenges affecting young people.

The organisation, which has been in existence for 26 years, brings together members from different branches across Namibia, with a shared goal of empowering the youth and raising awareness on key social issues.

National Co-ordinator for VYG, Billy Haoseb, reiterated, "We have thousands of young people that came from the locations, from the schools, and the VYG says that there is help for all those who are available, who came here to seek this help. There's free counselling, there are dramas, there are a few prizes that they are winning for free, donated by the coordinators and the members of the VYG, just to encourage the learners that are learning for them to learn, and there are a few cool prizes that they are winning."

The event focused on the fight against mental health challenges, gender-based violence, and suicide. 
Young people were offered free counselling services, creating a safe space for open dialogue and support. 

The programme also featured role plays and dance performances, used as creative tools to educate and engage participants on the realities faced by many young people in society.

The youth group is open to any young person in Namibia, encouraging inclusivity and active youth participation in building stronger communities. 

The initiative also comes as a response to the recent call by the President of Namibia, urging citizens and organisations to take action in addressing social challenges affecting the nation.
