Finance Minister Ericah Shifuda will table the 2026/2027 mid-year budget review on Thursday, with key discussions likely to centre on fiscal performance, budget implementation, and accelerating the delivery of development projects.
Deloitte's Director of Tax Gerda Brand said it is expected that Shifudah will present final fiscal indicators for the year ended March 2026 and assess budget implementation.
It is further expected that the recent foot-and-mouth (FMD) outbreak will also be included, as well as the government's efforts and budget allocations towards the disease.
Recently, Shafudah engaged with civil society organisations and reaffirmed the government's commitment to inclusive and transparent budgeting.
She also highlighted ongoing regional budget consultations and efforts to make budget information accessible to citizens, promote citizen participation in the budget process and ensure that the voices of the people are reflected in national budget priorities.
