No unpasteurised milk or milk products may be transported or moved from one place to another under current Food and Mouth Disease (FMD) restrictions.

Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform (MAFWLR) spokesperson Romeo Muyunda has clarified that fresh milk or any of its products are not permitted to be moved.

Muyunda's clarification comes amid complaints from travellers who questioned the confistifaction of omaere at road blocks.

He said only pasteurised milk is allowed to be transported, noting that any other form of milk or its products will be confiscated at veterinary checkpoints manned at roadblocks across the country.

This, he said, applies south of the Veterinary Cordon Fence (VCF), across the country.
According to Muyunda, pre-boiling the milk is not enough to avoid confiscation.
