Children, believed to be Angolan immigrants, who had been begging and wandering the streets of Windhoek, are no longer seen following a joint operation by various institutions over the weekend.
NBC News established through follow-up investigations that the children were picked up in the early hours of the morning and taken to an undisclosed place of safety.
The development follows concern over the presence of these children on Namibian streets, raising questions about their welfare, safety and the circumstances that brought them to the country.
None of the officials from the relevant bodies could, however, confirm the development on record.
