A pre-primary teacher at the Dr Aupa Frans Indongo Primary School in Windhoek said that the lack of sport facilities is a setback for many learners.
Considering the type of sporting activities that the Dr Aupa Frans Indongo pre-primary learners partake in during their physical education periods, the lack of facilities and equipment have hit them hard. The pupils have to make do with what they have at their disposal.
Anna Hansen, a pre-primary teacher, said that the little equipment the youngsters have been using has been brought in by volunteers.
She noted that if the situation could be improved, this would be helpful - especially for the learners who have shown great interest in sport.
She further stated that for PE teachers to manage 30 learners with different personalities has not been easy during physical education periods.
Hansen said that the school plans on raising funds to build a playground for the children.
