The N|a'an ku sé Foundation has handed over a school and church building to the marginalised community at Epukiro Pos 3.
The foundation also assists the San communities in the surroundings with feeding programmes.
Dr Kalumbi Shangula, Minister of Health and Social Services, stated at the inauguration of Epukiro Pos 3 that the government alone will not be able to address the needs of marginalised communities, praising private partnerships as a critical component of development.
"Non-governmental organisations like the N|a'an ku sé foundation have a contribution to make in our society, as demonstrated here by the construction of a school and a clinic. In addition to the clinic, the foundation constructed and managed the new buildings"
Speaking on behalf of the foundation, Jan Verburg says that a strong educational foundation is very important and should be supported by all stakeholders.
"We are very pleased with the completion of a school and a church, and we hope that many children will find their way to the school, which will benefit this community."
Lydia Anton, speaking on behalf of the community, says the foundation's assistance has transformed the lives of the San people with the completion of a school, another milestone.
The school will accommodate grade 1–4 learners.
