Learners at Sachona Senior Secondary School in the Zambezi Region will now enjoy better interaction with the digital world following a donation of technology equipment by Orumana Marine Enterprises, valued at about N$100,000.

The Orumana Marine Enterprise invested in the purchase of a projector and tripod projector screen, a photocopier machine, office chairs, tiles, and a bookcase cupboard for office administration.

The principal of Sachona Senior Secondary School, Claudia Ntelamo, says the sponsorship has contributed greatly to the school's growth and popularity while improving the quality of teaching.

"The school has received a lot of items, however, we are still having some challenges with the lack of classrooms, chairs, and flushing toilets. Other classes are overcrowded, and others attend lessons in a tent. The lack of classrooms limits the interactions between teachers and learners as well as the quality of teaching and learning. Other students are required to bring chairs from home. The school still uses the old pit latrines, which is very unfavourable and leads to infectious diseases that pose a barrier to the learning of learners as they frequently miss class due to health-related diseases."

Orumana Marine Enterprise's Sofia Nangula requested other corporate entities and individuals to help enhance the development of education at the school.

"Laziness and failure are not options; learners should make use of their youthful, mental, physical, and intellectual energies towards the achievement of their dreams and should never give up; should one fail or fall, one must take it as an opportunity to try again and do better next time, and should stay away from wrong crowds as they dim others' vision and focus and ruin others' futures, setting high standards of academic excellence beyond high school."
