A 33-year-old Namibian male Tuhafeni Simon has been denied bail in the Eenhana Magistrate Court.

Simon faces a charge of murder after allegedly killing his girlfriend on Tuesday night at Okongo. 

It is alleged that Simon killed 33-year-old Hambeleleni Kakukutu at Okongo just a stone's throw away from her room. 

Preliminary investigations revealed that Simon was staking out in a toilet nearby whilst drinking beer and waiting for his girlfriend to arrive so he could launch his attack.

It is alleged that after Kakukutu was dropped off he waited for the driver to leave before chasing her down and ultimately stabbing her twice in the back. 

She was later pronounced dead at the Okongo State Hospital. 

 The case has been postponed to the 27th of March 2023 for further investigation and to allow Simon to seek legal aid.
