UNESCO has helped make a positive impact on the lives of many and has established a fruitful relationship with Namibia.

The Namibia National Commission for UNESCO has assisted Namibia in the promotion of peace and international understanding, through intellectual cooperation.

 The organisation means to strengthen the collaboration among men and women towards pursuing the national development agenda and goals.

Deputy Executive Director in the Ministry of Higher Education, Training and Innovation, Raimo Naanda's speech was read on his behalf by the Director of National Heritage and Culture Programs in the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture, Esther Moombolah Goagoses.  

"Our programme is designed in such a way that we can listen to the success stories of many beneficiaries and what the Namibian NATCOM has meant for them, for us, the programme makes further provision for UNESCO to position the Namibian NATCOM with a mandate."

UNESCO Windhoek Office Director,  Djaffar Moussa Elkadhum spoke highly of Namibia's fruitful association with the organisation and its work.


"These noble words inscribe as I mentioned 77 years ago in the constitution of UNESCO are still of great relevance and succulence today. Thus confirming everyday that peace-building is a long-lasting endeavor."

UNESCO beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the program's impact on their professional and personal lives, with many becoming well-travelled and obtaining qualifications as a result.

The Minister of Higher Eduaction, Technology and Innovation Dr Itah Kandjii-Murangi said the Commission is committed to work with UNESCO.

The past and present members of the Namibia NATCOM have mobilized the educational scientific and cultural community in Namibia by first mobilizing for education so that every child boy or girl, girl or boy has access to quality education as a fundamental human right and a prerequisite for human development. OUT.

Namibia has been a member of the UNESCO executive board for four terms. 

Four publications were launched at the event.
