Rossing Uranium is repairing old, rusted, and faulty police vehicles at Swakopmund at a cost of N$350 000.

A total of 11 vehicles are being repaired as part of the company's social responsibility.

With the wet weather conditions in coastal towns, cars are prone to rust, and the bodies of the vehicles are damaged easily if proper care and maintenance are done. 

11 vehicles were identified for mechanical and body repairs. 

Erongo Regional Commander, Commissioner Nikolaus Kupembona says the repair works came at the right time because the police are expected to increase their presence on the ground and on the roads during this festive season.

Handing over the first four vehicles is the Managing Director of Rössing Uranium, Johan Coetzee.

"Having a fully functional fleet is crucial to the Namibian Police Force, to continue with its daily operations, I am glad that Rössing Uranium was able to support because the work done by NamPol benefits us all. We hope that this support will bring relief within the Erongo police team's fleet and in your efforts to combat crime in our region."
