The Oshikoto Police has obtained DNA samples from two suspects who are mentally disturbed, in connection with a murder and rape case of an 80-year-old woman.
The murder occurred on Wednesday at Omainda Village in the Omuthiya Constituency.
It is alleged that the suspect attacked the deceased with a panga while she was busy cutting camelthorn trees, with the aim to mend her fence a few meters from her house.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Elina Samuel sustained deep-cut wounds on the back of her head and died instantly.
Two minor children aged 3 and 4 witnessed the attack on their grandmother and her next of kin have already been informed.
Oshikoto Regional Commander, Commissioner Theopolina Kalomho-Nashikaku confirmed the incident to nbc News this afternoon.
