The Swapo Party has officially launched its campaign ahead of the Windhoek's Moses ||Garoeb Constituency bi-election slated for the 6th of January 2023.
Stefanus Ndengu was introduced as the party's candidate.

After a drive through the Moses ||Garoeb Constituency, Swapo Party members and supporters converged at an open space, marking the official campaign of the party.

The meeting observed a minute of silence in honor of the former late councillor of the constituency, Aili Venonya for whom a replacement is now being sought.

Stefanus Ndengu was announced as the party candidate to contest in this election.

The Swapo Party Youth League was the first to show support for the candidate.

Swapo Party District Secretary in the Moses ||Garoeb Constituency, Tobias Ismael said they want to reassure their candidate that the entire leadership and rank and file of the youth league in all 25 branches are ready, they are determined to make sure that come January 6th, young people come in numbers to vote.

SPYL Secretary General, Ephraim Nekongo said, on behalf of the young leaders in the Moses ||Garoeb Constituency, they are ready to vote for Comrade Ndengu.

Swapo Party Secretary General, Sophia Shaningwa called on Ndengu not to be a man who stays in air-conditioned offices only, but to engage the electorates and address the challenges they face.

She singled out water provision, electricity, roads, establishment of kindergartens and other basic amenities, as issues that warrant his immediate attention.

"I want to bless you when you are going to sit in that office to listen to your people, to have an open door policy, to ignore nobody, to be a servant of the people, standing as a politician, is not about comfort zones, it is about higher ethics and integrity."

Ndengu pledged to work hard and implement the Swapo Party's manifesto.

" Once you elect me, we are going to work together with you and I will listen to your needs, what you want is what we are going to do together."

Shaningwa also warned independent candidates to refrain from using the party's songs during their campaign.

At the rally, the newly elected members of the Central Committee and Politburo as well as the pioneers were introduced and Shaningwa stressed that the Swapo Party still has a long life.
