The Ministry of Health and Social Services has appealed to all health districts to enhance and reactivate all COVID-19 testing sites and encourage communities to get tested.

The Health Ministry indicated that the current epidemiological data shows a low testing rate countrywide, while the positivity rate is steadily increasing.

This is what Executive Director Ben Nangombe says could point to an increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the communities, which can only be proven by increasing testing.

According to Nangombe, anyone exhibiting symptoms consistent with COVID-19, whether in contact with a confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case or not, should be tested.

Regions have been requested to make use of any appropriate platform to engage with the community and religious leaders to ensure that the message is widely spread.
