Two European Union commissioners are expected in Namibia next week.

During their visit, the commissioners are expected to witness the celebration of 33 years of the EU-Namibia Partnership aimed at 'sustainable, inclusive growth for all'.

The EU Commissioners include Jutta Urpilainen for International Partnerships and Commissioner for Internal Market Thierry Breton.

They will launch the EU-Namibia Annual Action Plan 2022, which is worth 437 million dollars at NIPAM on Tuesday.

The new programmes to be launched under the AAP 2022 include budget support on foundational education, governance and gender equality, and technical cooperation facility.
On the same day, they are expected to attend a signing ceremony signing of five grant contracts with CSOs engaged in the economic and social upliftment of marginalised communities.

The commissioners, accompanied by the EU Ambassador to Namibia Sinikka Antila, will also pay a courtesy call on President Hage Geingob on Wednesday and the discussions will centre around the exchange of bilateral relations, and regional and multilateral issues.

Commissioner Breton is also expected to visit the African Mine in Uis and Namport in Walvis Bay on Tuesday.

He will in addition have a meeting with key stakeholders of the Namibia Green Hydrogen Project.
