Fostering administrative efficiency. This is the discussion currently underway at the SADC Parliamentary Forum meeting, underway in Windhoek.

The two-day forum will also focus on the orientation of new executive committee members and the inauguration of a board.

The orientation was necessitated by the election of a new president for the forum - Speaker of the National Assembly of Seychelles, Roger Mancienne.

This is significant to support the EXCO members to perform their functions to the best of their abilities and take full cognizance of the context in which the Forum operates.

With the forum's offices based in Windhoek, members are expected to visit the headquarters to meet with staff and exchange views on administrative processes in place.
The SADC Parliamentary Forum aims to provide a platform to support regional integration through parliamentary involvement,
As well, as promote best practices in the role of parliaments, and enhance cooperation among SADC Member States on matters of regional interest through legislative interventions.

During the meeting, Eswatini was appointed as the new treasurer for the forum.

The SADC-PF is a regional inter-parliamentary body made up of MPs from member states, representing more than three thousand and fifty parliamentarians in the Region.

Established by the SADC Summit in 1997, the Forum consists of Presiding Officers, and a maximum of five representatives elected by the National Parliaments of each Member State.
