There is a high demand for serviced plots countrywide and the government is hard at work to deliver on its promise of providing housing.
Residents of Klein Aub settlement in Rehoboth Rural Constituency received plots of land to build their houses through the Hardap Regional Council.
After finishing the servicing of demarcated land the Klein Aub settlement office listed 40 recipients of whom eight have already received their plot ownership letters to enable them to build their homes.
The rest will follow after meeting the criteria especially proof of source of income, which will enable them to pay for the water and electricity services.
The community listed a number of issues that the regional leaders should address.
These include a lack of meetings with the settlement office, slow service delivery and repeated plea for basic services in Klein Aub.
On his part, the Chairperson of the Hardap Regional Council Gershon Dausab explained that developments are initiated through community information collected by the Directorate of Development Planning, monitoring and evaluation.
Dausab further encouraged the leadership and management to fast-track the delivery of services to the residents.
The Hardap Regional Council Chairperson also briefed the residents on the ongoing exploration at the old Tin Mine.
And if the search for the Tin mineral is found, the mining activities are expected to create jobs and attract other business ventures.
