Prime Minister Sara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila has called on Namibians to embrace the Ritja Career Fair in the Omaheke Region.

Kuugongelwa Amadhila urged all stakeholders, including parents, learners, and teachers, as well as corporate entities and individuals, to support the government in addressing challenges that affect education.

"I am glad to note that efforts are underway to make the Ritja Career Fair a national project, and I urge all Namibians to embrace it. Besides providing information about career paths to students, this initiative also creates a networking platform for them to interact with one another, share information, and motivate them. A cohesive, multinational, and multidimensional approach to education is required to ensure optimal outcomes from our investment in education as a country, and the Ritja Career Fair is such an endeavor that could assist us in this regard."

Also speaking at the occasion was the Minister of Higher Education, Training, and Innovation, Itah Kandjii-Murangi, who stressed the importance of vocational training and that those who obtain qualifications through these institutions can access funding from the Development Bank of Namibia if they have viable businesses.

"You are at a point in your life where Namibia is looking at you to become meaningful contributors to the economy of this country, meaningful contributors to decent living or livelihoods in your respective communities, and Namibia is also looking at you to become innovators, and you can only do so if you really look at yourself, your interests, your skills, your aptitude, and the knowledge you have acquired so far and know how to horn that in."

Laura McLeod Katjirua, the patron of the Ritja Career Fair, shared the objective of the career fair.

"To mobilize and sensitize students of the significance of career paths or career choices, to create a culture of networking and benchmarking, interaction, and information sharing, providing information about different courses provided by different institutions as well as distributing different application forms and booklets, and providing information on different economic sectors in our country."
