The Minister of Urban and Rural Development, James Sankwasa, has called on traditional authorities to stop infighting that is creating disunity, which goes against what traditional authorities stand for. 

The Republican Party (RP) says it is not opposed to the government or the Swapo Party.

Its leader, Henk Mudge, told President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah at State House that the RP's focus remains on practical, fact-based politics rather than emotional debates.

Zambia has confirmed five new cases of Mpox in the last week, bringing the total cumulative cases to 1,733 since the disease outbreak began in October last year. Despite the high number of cases, the Zambia National Public Health Institute reports that the death toll remains at three.

The Erongo Regional Governor has emphasised the need to decongest shacks and provide decent housing for residents.

Her call follows the death of two minors in a shack fire last Wednesday at DRC Swakopmund.
