The Ministry of Industries, Mines, and Energy has started to develop a policy on mandatory minimum percentage local equity participation in all new mining ventures.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah says the 8th administration has established a strong foundation in its first three months in office.

However, considerable work remains through the implementation of the sixth National Development Plan (NDP6).

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has said Namibia's Sixth National Development Plan (NDP6) prioritises unemployment through industrialisation. 

Despite objections from the Affirmative Repositioning party questioning the legitimacy of the selection process, four members of the Namibian parliament were sworn in on Monday as representatives to the Pan-African Parliament. 

The Director of the National Planning Commission, Dr. Kaire Mbuende, has explained that Namibia's sixth National Development Plan (NDP6) builds on lessons learnt from NDP5 and includes consultations from Namibia's fourteen regions and 121 constituencies.
