Namibian boxer Julius "Blue Machine" Indongo failed to stand his ground in his first comeback fight from a previous defeat when he was knocked out in the second round by American boxer Regis Prograis in their Interim WBC title fight in the early hours of Saturday. All eyes were on Namibian boxer Julius "Blue Machine" Indongo as he attempted to restore his name in earnest after his loss to Terrence Crawford last year and also to make a mark on American soil for himself. Indongo, however, started his comeback fight on the wrong foot in the very first round as Prograis was dominant from the opening bell where he landed a fierce jab that sent the Namibian to the canvas. More was to come from Prograis as he continued where he left off in the first round by taking full control of the second round as well. Prograis floored Indongo once again with a massive left punch and despite Indongo getting back on his feet, Prograis came for him yet again. Despite the referee's well-intentioned move to give Indongo one more chance to remain in the fight, the American boxer ended it once and for all with a third knockdown in the second round via a left hook and fourth in the fight to close the night's chapter. With the defeat it is now back to the drawing board for Indongo, who once enjoyed global admiration when he captured three world titles in the past. Prograis who registered his 14th knock-out victory in 15 fights as a professional boxer will likely take on the winner of next weekend's fight between Jose Ramirez and Amir Imam for the full WBC title.
