Recognition of Felix Muraghuli as Hompa welcomes grievances

The recognition of  Felix Muraghuli as Hompa for the Gciriku Community has stirred discontent among some members of the royal family.

While one faction is urging the Minister of Urban and Rural Development, Erastus Uutoni, to reconsider his decision, another faction has opted to pursue legal action.

Since the death of Kassian Shiyambi in 2019, the Gciriku People have been without a Hompa.

The Ministry of Urban and Rural Development announced Murauli's recognition as Hompa for the Gciriku Community in a letter issued last week.

Family of hit-and-run victim distraught

The teenager, Theopolina Iyambo, was killed on Sunday morning after an unlicensed driver bumped into her and left her for dead.

Theopolina Iyambo died a few minutes after her aunt sent her to run errands at the DRC informal settlement.

An unlicensed driver employed by a carwash bumped her while she was riding a bicycle, and her body was lying in a pool of blood on the side of the road.

Katutura Central family left destitute after house struck by lightning

A house in the Katutura Central Constituency caught fire after it was struck by lightning last night.

Rain in Windhoek has brought relief to many but to some, it has caused distress.
