The Physical Active Youth Center in Katutura was abuzz with excitement as the RMB Namibia Cycling Federation's Bicycle Motocross (BMX) competition kicked off on Saturday morning. 

Approximately 100 children from Katutura participated in different age categories, including U-8, U-10, U-12, U-14, and U-16.

The gravel race track proved to be a tough challenge for the young riders, many of whom were unfamiliar with such terrain. As a result, collisions and painful falls occurred, leading to minor injuries.

Namibian professional cyclist, Vera Looser, achieved a remarkable double triumph at the prestigious Namibia Annual Sport Awards held at the Dome in Swakopmund.

Her outstanding contributions to sports were recognized as she was honored with the titles of "Sport Star" and "Sport Woman of the Year."

Looser expressed her excitement and gratitude for receiving both accolades, acknowledging the significance of the recognition.

The Namibian Women's Cycling team scooped a silver medal at the African Cycling Championship yesterday. The competition is taking place in Accra, Ghana.
