Housing demand continues to grow at Otavi, and the council has started with the upgrading of its three informal settlements, which were established as a result of illegal settlements.

Otavi Mayor Isaac !Hoaeb says they have started counting the zinc-structured houses for demarcation.

!Hoaeb says a total of 400 households have been enumerated at Kap n' Bou, 500 at Naruseb, and 600 at Harambee informal settlements.

More than N$163 million was spent on upgrading the road network infrastructure that connects to the Etosha National Park.

The upgrade was meant to enhance mobility and accessibility for visitors to the park, as well as provide a service road for effective park management.

From 2018/2019 to 2023/2024, the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism initiated a project to upgrade the restricted western roads and parks within the Etosha National Park.

To date, some of the roads have been successfully upgraded. 

A five-year memorandum of agreement to assist with rehabilitating and upgrading roads in Katima Mulilo was signed between the Katima Mulilo Town Council, Road Fund Administration and Roads Authority.

The Namibia Water Corporation will ration water supply from the 7th of March due to the upgrading of the raw water pumps at the Oshakati Water Treatment Plant and distribution system.

In a notice to stakeholders and customers in the Oshana, Ohangwena and Oshikoto regions, NamWater states that the rationing of water supply will take place between 22h00 to 05h00 in the morning during the four-day period.

This is necessary to build up reserve capacity to sustain supply to critical customers, it said.
